NEW YORK, May 10, 2021 – BCW, the global communications agency built to move people, announced today that Chris Kief has joined the agency as Chief Technology Officer, effective immediately. Kief will strengthen the agency’s ability to develop compelling technology-driven experiences that deliver meaningful outcomes for clients.

Kief works at the intersection of marketing, advertising and technology and has 20 years of hands-on engineering experience. As a solutions-oriented business and creative professional, his experience spans multiple sectors, including automotive, consumer-packaged goods, health, financial services, quick-serve restaurants and retail. Kief has used his full-stack knowledge – covering a wide spectrum of technologies, processes and platforms – to create successful and award-winning digital experiences for clients ranging from small start-ups to global leaders.

“Chris is an innovator and a visionary who has been at the forefront of developing new technology to produce engaging and high-performance work for clients,” said Donna Imperato, Global CEO, BCW, to whom Kief reports. “He’s really a unicorn. Chris brings an entirely new world of technology combined with a creative approach to solutions that will appeal to the entire C-suite. He will work across all aspects of our technology-driven business.”

Before joining BCW, Kief was Head of Technology with Droga5, where his most recent engineering work was focused on the multi-year global redesign and re-platforming of Harley-Davidson.com. Before that he was Head of Technology for 360i, overseeing a team with five distinct areas of focus: Innovation technology, technical direction, engineering and devops, marketing/media technology, and conversion optimization. That team developed responsive web applications, native mobile applications, search marketing tools and rapid prototypes, and also handled e-commerce optimization and media data management for consumer, B2B and telecommunications clients.

Prior to that he was Chief Technology Officer for Saatchi & Saatchi, responsible for building the agency’s digital capabilities including the development of web, mobile, social and platform experiences for clients. Earlier in his career he held similar roles with TBWA\Worldwide, TBWA\Chiat\Day and Crispin Porter + Bogusky.

Kief’s experience spans a broad range of clients, including American Express, Absolut, Apple, British Airways, Best Buy, Burger King, Chase, Coca-Cola, Domino’s, General Mills, Google, Intuit, McDonald’s, Michelin, MINI, Modelez, Nestle, Nike, P&G, Red Bull, Samsung, Taco Bell, Toyota, Vonage and Walmart.

“BCW is expert in helping clients set their strategic direction, developing the narrative for that story and communicating it across all channels to all stakeholders,” said Kief. “I can’t wait to get started using new and more inventive ways to tell these clients’ stories and move people on their behalf.”

Kief’s work has been recognized by the Cannes Lions, One Show, SXSW, the Webby Awards, Communication Arts and Fast Company, among many others.
