NEW YORK, March 31, 2022 – BCW, the global communications agency in the business of moving people, today announced that Mary Corcoran has joined the agency as President, North America, effective May 1. She will be responsible for business growth; talent acquisition, development and retention; and senior client counsel for the agency’s largest region. She will also become a member of BCW’s Executive Committee and global board.
Corcoran’s more than two-decade career includes expertise in corporate reputation management and crisis; public affairs; influencer work; pure play consumer engagement; brand advocacy; employee engagement; data and analytics; and social business strategy. Her industry experience spans healthcare, finance, consumer packaged goods, non-profit/political, retail, e-commerce, gaming, business-to-business and consumer technology. She also has considerable experience leading digital campaigns designed to reach consumers and stakeholders to drive awareness, action and loyalty.
“Mary is exceptionally gifted with the diverse range of skills needed to lead BCW’s largest region,” said Donna Imperato, Global CEO, BCW, to whom Corcoran will report. “She has experience across nearly every industry and discipline, plus an impeccable track record of successfully leading increasingly large and complex P&Ls to outsized growth.
“Mary also has an infectious energy and people-first leadership style, which are critical for success in today’s highly competitive talent market,” Imperato continued. “Her reputation as a deeply effective and empathetic leader is well known throughout the industry, as is her steadfast determination to be the best possible advocate and partner for her clients. I couldn’t be happier to have Mary as a partner and leader in our business.”
Corcoran joins BCW after five years at Real Chemistry (formerly W2O) where she ran the tWist operating company, the communications business and, most recently, had served as Chief Client Officer. Prior to Real Chemistry, Mary spent 11 years at Edelman, successfully leading multiple businesses across disciplines and geographies, concluding with her role as Chief Operating Officer of the agency’s New York office. Prior to Edelman, Mary spent several years in Democratic politics in Washington, D.C. after starting her career at J.P. Morgan.
“The quality of the BCW and WPP leadership teams, coupled with the opportunity to lead such a dynamic, diversified business to its next stage of growth, made the decision to join BCW an obvious one,” said Corcoran. “I am thrilled to roll up my sleeves and start working with our teams and clients across the North American region, and indeed, around the world.”
Corcoran succeeds Brooke Hovey who had served in the role since May 2021 and who will continue as BCW’s Global Chief Growth Officer.
