KUALA LUMPUR, January 18, 2021 – BCW (Burson Cohn & Wolfe), a leading global communications agency, today announced that BCW Malaysia and essence BCW will combine operations under the BCW Malaysia brand, effective immediately. The merged entity will be led by Managing Director and current BCW Malaysia market leader Kiersten Chaik, who will continue to report to Matt Stafford, APAC President, BCW.
The decision to integrate follows the completion of BCW’s acquisition of essence BCW. Both brands will be retained and maintain separate legal entities and secure safeguards where potential conflicts exist. All staff will co-locate in the same office when the 2021 Malaysian Government Movement Control Order allows.
“We look forward to seeing BCW’s combined Malaysia business thrive in this next phase under Kiersten’s leadership,” said Stafford. “The decision to integrate comes at a crucial time for companies in Malaysia as they work to identify the communications solutions needed to navigate their recovery, both economic and reputational, following COVID-19. I am confident the team will succeed in the market by creating innovative solutions for clients that truly move people and deliver measurable business impact.”
“Malaysia is a critical market within Southeast Asia, and BCW has never been better positioned to meet the changing needs of businesses in the market and the wider region than it is today,” said Chaik. “The BCW Malaysia team and I are excited to deliver clear and tangible benefits for our existing clients and attract new clients and people to our business.”
