Comms News celebrates Prema Sagar's legacy through her induction into the Comms News Hall of FameNovember 16, 2023

Prema Sagar, the esteemed founding chairperson of BCW India Group, has long been a luminary in the Indian PR industry. Widely recognised as an iconic figure in her field, she was recently bestowed with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Comms News from the PRomise Foundation.

On 1st November, BCW India Group marks its Founder's Day, an occasion to celebrate the firm and its remarkable achievements. This year marked the 31st anniversary of the firm, and on this memorable day, Amith Prabhu, Co-creator of PRAXIS and Founding Dean of the School of COmmunication & REputation for Post-Graduation, inducted Prema into the Comms News Hall of Fame. Comms News is part of the group that publishes Reputation Today. In 2023, Comms News inducted the first cohort of honourees into the Hall of Fame, who included, nine other distinguished honourees from the industry, besides Prema.

Prema founded Genesis Public Relations in 1992, during the nascent stages of the public relations industry in India. Her leadership was pivotal in the industry’s rapid expansion in the country. Among her many accomplishments, she also holds the distinction of being the founding president of the Public Relations Consultants Association of India (PRCAI) and the Public Affairs Forum of India (PAFI).

In the past, is she has served as the National Chair for India at the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), UK, and has also been the Observer, Board Management of the International Communication Consultancies Organisation. Prema was also the first Indian to be inducted to the International Communications Consultancy Organization’s (ICCO) International Hall of Fame.

With the Comms News Hall of Fame recognition, Prema’s legacy of inspiring leadership and industry stewardship continues.
