More About Douglas Dew
Douglas Dew is Head of BCW Asia Pacific’s Corporate & Public Affairs Practice. Over more than 25 years – with the last 19 based in Beijing – he has led BCW teams in addressing some of the most challenging and vital issues facing global business.
Across the Asia Pacific region, he leads the development of public affairs and reputation management strategies for companies and industry associations in highly regulated industry sectors where government is a key stakeholder. He also works with government clients. This work encompasses the full range of corporate and public affairs disciplines including: research and analysis; corporate responsibility and reputation strategy; risk communications; crisis and issues management; stakeholder engagement and coalition building; government and regulatory affairs; and media relations.
He has diverse crisis and issues management experience including in relation to: environment; public health; cyber security; safety; industrial incidents; product quality; product recalls; supply chain risks; organizational restructuring and closures; energy supply and security; regulatory compliance; corruption / bribery; extortion; kidnapping; labor disputes; intellectual property rights; anti-trust; NGO actions; government investigations and inquiries; and litigation.
Doug completed a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations with a Politics Major at RMIT University, Melbourne, in 1995. He has also completed a short course in Risk Communications at the Harvard School of Public Health, Center for Risk Analysis. Doug has received awards for his work at the national, regional and global level.
