SHANGHAI, JUNE 16, 2020 – BCW (Burson Cohn & Wolfe), a leading global communications agency, today announced its strategic partnership with premier virtual reality (VR) platform and ecosystem provider, HTC VIVE, in China. Through HTC’s VIVE XR Suite, launched today, the partnership will enable BCW to provide clients in China with the ability to integrate cutting-edge XR experiences into their communications activities. In return, BCW will provide HTC VIVE with communications industry insights to further enhance its industry solutions.
As an early adopter of emerging technologies, BCW is using digital technologies like XR to create innovative virtual ecosystems in which brands and audiences can live and engage. The partnership with HTC VIVE reinforces BCW’s commitment to innovation and to moving people, by bringing to life digital experiences that create value and connections for clients.
The VIVE XR Suite is comprised of five major applications (VIVESync, VIVESessions, VIVECampus, VIVESocial and VIVEMuseum), which in combination with HTC’s B2B solution, VIVEEvents, has been designed to meet the daily needs of users and organizations who now need to work, learn and live remotely in a way they haven’t needed to in the past. All of the applications function on existing PCs and most major mobile phone brands, while a superior experience will be delivered by tethered PC VR or standalone VR devices.
“Our announcement of the VIVE XR Suite today is a reflection of how critical we believe XR technology will be in helping the world progress beyond the video-centric “New Normal” lives we’ve all been living recently,” said Alvin W. Graylin, China President, HTC. “As we move into the more spatial computing-centric world of the “Next Normal”, XR will become the more prevalent way people interact with each other. We are thrilled to be partnering with BCW in making this exciting and dynamic emerging technology available to businesses in China and beyond.”
“Digital transformation is a mission-critical priority for modern businesses as they compete in an interconnected, highly mobile world, powered by emerging technologies,” said Joe Peng, Managing Director and Head of Digital Innovation, BCW APAC. “While we are helping our client build big, insight-driven ideas that inspire action and connect with people’s lives and their communities, immersive technologies such as XR are playing an important role in bringing brand experience and customer engagement into the virtual space. We are delighted to partner with HTC to make this new suite of XR offerings available to BCW clients.”
