BCW Appoints Yimin Wang BCW China CEOSeptember 20, 2023

BEIJING, September 20, 2023 – BCW, the leading global communications agency, today announced the appointment of Yimin Wang as Chief Executive Officer of BCW China.

Currently Regional Managing Director and based in China, Wang will succeed Qu Hong, who is leaving in October after more than six years with the agency. China is BCW’s largest market in the region by revenue and the home to many of BCW’s global clients. Wang will oversee the Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou offices.

Prior to joining BCW, Wang was marketing communications director at a leading multinational technology company, and before that technology practice lead for Burson-Marsteller Beijing. Over an 18-year career, her work has won numerous industry awards and she was named to CampaignAsia’s Women to Watch Greater China list in 2021.

“Yimin has led BCW’s largest and fastest growing business unit in China for the past five years, she is a proven people leader and a trusted adviser to our clients” said Matt Stafford, Global President, Practices and Sectors, and President, BCW Asia-Pacific, to whom Wang will continue to report. “As part of our succession planning, Yimin was identified early for this important role; she is now ready to lead our team in China that is several hundred strong into an exciting period of growth that we are set-up for during 2024 and beyond. I’d like to extend a huge thank you to Qu Hong for his instrumental role in helping BCW China become the industry-leading consultancy it is today.”

“BCW is a trusted partner to leading multinational organizations looking to navigate the ever-changing regulatory, reputational and operational environment in China, and to Chinese brands looking to establish trust and expand impact internationally,” said Wang. “Decisions made in China are pivotal to the global success of these organizations, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead our stellar team and move people forward for our clients.”

BCW Shenzhen will now report into the Hong Kong office, led by Polka Yu, Deputy APAC President. The agency’s China-going-global practice has been a major driver of growth for the Hong Kong office, with revenue more than doubling in the past 12 months. As many BCW Hong Kong clients are based in Shenzhen, bringing the teams together will deliver a stronger offering for BCW’s China-headquartered clients.
