We are beyond thrilled to have been named Diversity and Inclusion Company of the Year in the first-annual Drum PR Awards, held in London on September 17. Our North America program, “BCW Belong: Moving People Toward Diversity & Inclusion” perfectly illustrates our point of view on this important topic: We live a culture of inclusion. We value and celebrate the attributes, characteristics and perspectives that make each person unique. D&I is central to our mission of creating a more open and collaborative culture and is imperative to our work and for our industry.
BCW Belong focuses on four key pillars: Improving Workplace Diversity, Inclusion and Retention, Professional Development and External Reach which are inclusive of expansive employment opportunities; bias mitigation and comprehensive awareness trainings; employee resource groups; and participation in a variety of partnerships, sponsorships and fundraisers. This comprehensive effort has helped BCW drive a culture where difference is valued and colleagues are empowered to bring their full authentic selves to work every day.
BCW also took the top prize in the Public Affairs category for #SaveYourPress on behalf of the German Federation of Newspaper Publishers, BDZV, and European news publisher associations. Over the past year, one of the most consequential copyright struggles played out on the EU political stage, shaping the digital frontier of Europe for decades to come. The news publishers trusted BCW Brussels to persuade previously skeptical members of the European Parliament to back a Publishers’ Right in the new Copyright Directive, guaranteeing that publishers and journalists be paid fairly by big tech platforms who use their content.
