FORMER WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY ARI FLEISCHER NAMED STRATEGIC CONSULTANT TO BCWMarch 21, 2024

NEW YORK, March 21, 2024 – BCW, a leading global communications agency, today announced that former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer will work with the agency in a consulting capacity, responsible for providing executive-level communications strategy and counsel to clients. He is based in New York.

“Ari has extraordinary experience in delivering world-class strategic counsel, issues management and campaign development across the domains of politics, business and sports/entertainment,” said Corey duBrowa, Global CEO, BCW. “His steady hand and keen insights will be incredibly valuable for our clients who are guiding their businesses through all manner of geopolitical, economic and cultural headwinds.”

In his role as White House Press Secretary, Fleischer was the primary spokesperson for President George W. Bush and delivered the daily White House press briefings from 2001 to 2003. In his almost four years working for President Bush, Fleischer served as spokesperson during the historic presidential recount, September 11th, two wars and the anthrax attack. Fleischer has also written two best-selling books. His latest book, Suppression, Deception, Snobbery and Bias, takes a deep dive into how and why the press keep getting so much wrong. His first book, Taking Heat, details his years in the White House and reached number seven on The New York Times Best Seller list.

He has also worked on Capitol Hill as a press secretary to three Congressmen and one U.S. Senator. Since leaving the White House, Fleischer has run his own communications firm that provides advice to corporate and sports clients on how to handle the press.

“BCW has an extensive roster of Fortune 500 clients that face complex – seemingly existential - challenges to their businesses,” said Fleischer. “I’m thrilled to work with such a world-class team to enhance and protect the reputations of their clients.

“It’s quite serendipitous to partner with BCW at this moment in time, as I had the pleasure of meeting Harold Burson shortly after I left the White House and for whom I have enormous respect,” Fleischer continued. “It’s an honor to help carry forward his values which have meant so much to so many across the profession.”

On January 25th, WPP announced it would merge its two largest communications agencies, BCW and Hill & Knowlton, to form Burson, a powerhouse delivering modern communications leadership at scale to clients across the world. The merged company will become an industry-leading, full-service communications agency focused on building and protecting reputation. Burson will be operational as of July 1, 2024.
