The annual ASDA’A BCW Arab Youth Survey is the largest study of its kind of the Arab world’s largest demographic – its over 200 million youth. Our evidence-based insights provide governments, the private sector, media and civil society with valuable data for decision-making and policy formation.

We conduct the ASDA’A BCW Arab Youth Survey every year for two reasons: One, to deliver valuable insights on what defines the region – its youthful demographic - with tracking data to show what is changing on the ground; and two, to provide the key findings of the survey on this website giving governments, the private sector and civil society across the world free access to key information to support policy-making and strategy development. To ensure the survey’s independence and credibility, we fund the survey entirely ourselves.

Execution

The 15th annual ASDA’A BCW Arab Youth Survey 2023 was conducted among Arab youth across 53 cities in 18 states in the Middle East and North Africa, with South Sudan added this year. Professional interviewers of Sixth Factor Consulting, a leading research company, conducted 3,600 face-to-face interviews from March 27 to April 12, 2023. We present the findings under six emerging themes: My Global Citizenship, My Politics, My Livelihood, My Identity, My Aspirations, and My Lifestyle. Findings under ‘My Global Citizenship’ were revealed first at an event in Dubai on June 20, 2023, with the others to be launched in the coming weeks. All the data are available at our website: arabyouthsurvey.com

The 2023 survey made big impact with the findings covered by 1,900 global and regional outlets in 67 countries in 18 languages in addition to 50 minutes of prime TV time and 1.5 hours of radio time with total reach of over 1.5 billion since its launch in June 20.

Arab Youth Survey trended as the number one topic for two days, generating an estimated 1,117 tweets on the launch day. Overall, content impressions reached over 6.5 million with a reach of over 3 million and engagement of over 69K. The livestream was watched by 75K, and videos shared viewed by 4.1 million people.
