NEW YORK, January 11, 2022 – BCW, the global communications agency in the business of moving people, today announced that Diego Bertagni has joined the company as Executive Creative Director, North America. Bertagni will be responsible for leading and building the region’s team of creative professionals, delivering ideas that move people and creating business impact for clients. He is based in Chicago.

“Diego has a brilliant creative mind, infectious energy, a passion for culture and tremendous experience to elevate our Earned-Plus offer,” said Brooke Hovey, President, North America and Global Chief Growth Officer, BCW. “Fundamentally, we exist to move people for our clients, and in today’s world that requires courageous, powerful ideas plus an understanding of how those ideas will inspire action – especially in complex omni-channel environments. Throughout Diego’s award-winning career, he’s led brilliant work for some of the most iconic brands in the world, demonstrating he understands this better than any. I’m excited to bring this type of creative leader into our organization. He’s joining a great team, and together with Fede Garcia, who recently joined us as our Global Chief Creative Officer, they will be unstoppable.” Bertagni reports to Hovey, with a dotted line report to Garcia.

Bertagni joins BCW with work that has been recognized at Cannes and the Clios, among others, and he has been a juror for the Webbys, Effies and many more. His most recent role as a creative lead was two years at draftLine YYZ, the in-house agency for Anheuser-Busch, where he built the Toronto office from scratch as its Executive Creative Director.

Before that, he spent two-and-a-half years as Creative Director at Flipp Corporation, a retail technology company that aggregates weekly shopping circulars within a user’s zip code. Prior, he spent three years with Tribal Worldwide, most recently as Creative Director, working on clients including Adidas, General Mills, IAMS, Johnson & Johnson, McDonald's, Mondelēz, PepsiCo and Royal Canin, among others. Earlier in his career, Bertagni spent nearly four years with Ogilvy in Buenos Aires, most recently as Creative Director, overseeing work on brands including American Express, Banco Santander Rio, Belcorp, The Coca-Cola Company, IBM, Toyota and 20th Century Fox. A native of Argentina, his passion for this industry is also reflected during his time as an instructor at the Miami Ad School in Buenos Aires.

“Diego is going to be a fantastic addition to BCW’s creative team as he brings an expansive perspective to solving client problems with unbridled creativity,” said Garcia. “He uses everything at his disposal to move audiences to act. I am excited for the fresh perspective he will bring to our clients and for how he will inspire our team members to think without boundaries.”

“Throughout my career, I have always made unorthodox decisions, the uncomfortable moves. For me, that’s where the ‘new’ is, and that’s when you learn,” said Bertagni. “That’s why I focused my work in digital when no one else was, that’s why I lived and breathed the culture of the tech world, and that’s why I built an in-house agency from the ground up. Now, with a refreshed toolbox, I decided to come back to a big agency with BCW because today, paid media-only doesn’t cut through the noise. BCW’s Earned-Plus offer is the name of the game. BCW is really blazing a trail in what a strategic communications agency can deliver for clients.”
