NEW YORK, June 29, 2021 – BCW, the global communications agency built to move people, announced today that Erin Shea has joined the agency as Executive Vice President, Market Leader, Chicago, effective immediately. Shea will be responsible for talent management and business growth in the market, and will report to Teresa Henderson, Chief Operating Officer, North America, BCW.

Shea has more than 20 years of experience creating and delivering integrated communications programs that earn attention and drive engagement, pioneering digital programs for Fortune 500 companies, collaborating cross-discipline, building teams, and championing diversity and inclusion.

“Erin is the consummate communications professional with considerable expertise in storytelling, brand strategy and insights-led integrated programming across a wide variety of sectors and industries,” said Brooke Hovey, Interim President, North America and Global Chief Growth Officer, BCW. “She is also highly regarded for building diverse, high-performing teams that drive results and growth. Erin is the perfect fit to lead BCW’s earned-plus offer in Chicago, and I’m looking forward to what she will bring to our business.”

Shea joins BCW after spending seven years with Weber Shandwick, most recently as Executive Vice President, Integrated Communications Planning, Midwest. In that role she was the strategic lead on multichannel content, e-commerce and communications strategies for national and global projects for business-to-business, consumer, corporate and healthcare clients. Before that, she held leadership roles at the agency focusing in integrated media strategies and editorial content.

Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, Shea spent four years with Edelman as a cross-functional team leader designing data- and insights-driven multichannel campaigns for consumer, business-to-business and technology clients. Shea also worked for two years at Harpo Productions as a producer of Oprah.com, serving as the vertical lead for the digital home of Oprah Winfrey’s Book Club and for which she produced and launched the first-ever Oprah Winfrey Show online broadcast of Oprah’s Book Club in partnership with CNN and Facebook. Earlier in her career, she served in digital editorial roles with Imagination Publishing, the Chicago-Sun Times and Reed Business Information.

A blogger since 1999, Shea’s work has been recognized by the New York Times; MSNBC.com; The Chicago Tribune; Good Morning America; Women's Health; Shape; and O, The Oprah Magazine, among others. In 2011, Shape magazine named her blog one of the "20 Blogs That Keep Us Happy and Sane." In 2005, her book, Tales from the Scale, was named one of the top six health books of the year by The Wall Street Journal.

“BCW is really on the leading edge of driving a new model for our industry – developing earned ideas and delivering them across every communications channel,” said Shea. “I honored to join the incredible BCW team and am excited to build its Chicago market into a Midwest powerhouse.”
