Alison Kutler has joined BCW as Executive Vice President and Deputy Market Leader for Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 16, 2021 – BCW (Burson Cohn & Wolfe), a leading global communications agency, announced today that Alison Kutler has joined the agency as Executive Vice President, Deputy Market Leader, Washington, D.C., effective immediately.

Kutler will partner with Michael Fleischer, Washington, D.C. President and Market Leader, to whom she will report, on strategic market growth, talent management and financial performance, among other key initiatives. She also will advise key Fortune 500 clients on policy strategy and become a member of BCW’s North American Leadership Team.

“Alison offers extraordinary experience working in government and the private sector developing and leading business, regulatory and policy strategies at both the U.S. and global levels,” said Fleischer. “She is an expert at building and managing high-performance teams across multiple functions, navigating complex environments and helping organizations advance their corporate and policy objectives. Before joining BCW, Kutler spent three years as a Principal with PwC in Technology, Media and Telecommunications and Leader of Strategic Policy Advisers, providing clients with comprehensive strategies to define and execute their government and regulatory affairs agendas. During this time, she was a member of the board of the Information Technology Industry Council and the National Center for APEC, the voice of U.S. business in Asia-Pacific. Before that, she spent two years with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as Bureau Chief, Consumer and Governmental Affairs and Special Adviser to the Chairman for Digital Opportunity. Kutler was charged with creating the vision for, rebuilding and serving as the public face of the FCC. In that role, she led and managed a bureau with eight divisions, 170 employees and a range of functions including consumer policy, intergovernmental affairs, a consumer help center, and web and print content.

Prior to that, Kutler spent three years as Senior Vice President, Government Relations, Americas with Visa, responsible for leading Visa’s government relations strategy and activities in the Americas and driving Visa’s public policy agenda globally.

Kutler also held other senior roles in the U.S. Government as the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Export-Import Bank and as Director of the Trade Advocacy Center located within the International Trade Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce. She previously held positions at the U.S. Department of Commerce, the White House and has experience in Congress.

In her legal career, she focused on regulatory and policy law with the law firms of Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal and Arent Fox Kinter Plotkin & Kahn.
