Creativity Talks with James Honeyborne, Producer of Blue Planet IIOctober 27, 2022

The next BCW Creativity Talks guest is the man behind the EMMY and BAFTA award-winning series Blue Planet II – James Honeyborne.

James joins our Executive Creative Director Pete Way to discuss James’s creative process, how he finds inspiration and who and what inspires him.

During James’s time as an executive producer at the BBC’s Natural History Unit, his work included Sir David Attenborough's hit series 'Africa', EMMY nominated ‘Wild New Zealand’ and BAFTA-winning ‘Big Blue Live’.

His last BBC blockbuster, the multi-award-winning ‘Blue Planet II’, broke all records as the most-watched wildlife documentary series for over 20 years. His associated social-led campaign #ourblueplanet fuelled the so-called ‘Blue Planet Effect’, drawing global attention to ocean health and most notably, the problems of plastic pollution.

James has also previously partnered with BCW UK on an award-winning campaign for Sri Lanka Tourism: ‘Wild Guides’ takes you on a journey across the island of Sri Lanka to see the country’s stunning landscapes, endless white sand beaches and sprawling national parks, from the perspective of the island’s animal inhabitants.

Today, James is creative director of Freeborne Productions and is working in partnership with Netflix. His first Netflix Series, “Our Great National Parks”, voiced by Barack Obama won a prime-time EMMY.

Join us for an exclusive chat with James, who will share his insights on what it takes to be creative, on Monday 31st October at 1pm GMT.
