BCW Appoints Achim Kautz as Senior AdvisorOctober 14, 2020

BRUSSELS, 14 October 2020 -- BCW, a leading global communications agency, today announced the appointment of Achim Kautz, a healthcare policy expert and patient advocate at global, European and national levels, as a Senior Advisor.

Kautz has spent his career working to improve the lives of patients, including contributing to three WHO Resolutions on Hepatitis C elimination. He was one of the founding Members of the European Liver Patients Association (ELPA) and since 2001 has worked for Deutsche Leberhilfe e. V. of which he was the CEO until 2014. He has been a special consultant of the “World Hepatitis Alliance” board since 2008.

Furthermore, Kautz was a Member of the Board of the German Network of Excellence for Viral Hepatitis (Hep-Net) until 2006, Chairman of the Board of BAG Leber e. V. until 2015, as well as Member of the Board of Trustees of the Deutsche Leberstiftung. In 2010 he was among the founding members of the German workgroup “National Liver Strategy Plan.” He was the Vice President of ELPA between 2011 and 2012, and its Policy Director in 2013 and 2014. He has been a member of the National Strategy Planning Committee of the WHO since 2012.
